Pantene Foam Conditioner Review
I love my hair, no matter how terrible it is. Also, I may never stop trying new products that promise good hair days. This review is about a new conditioner in the market and it is pretty different from the rest. It is the Pantene Foam Conditioner. The name itself was pretty different, “FOAM” ? in a conditioner? I know shampoos that don’t give any lather but never heard of a foamy conditioner.
So what does the brand say about the product? Taken from the Pantene website
AIR-LIGHT NOURISHMENT EVEN FOR FINE HAIR
– The new step two of your in-shower regimen
– Rich, nourishing Pro-V in a weightless formula
– 100% conditioning with 0% weight to maximize volume
– Melts into hair and quickly rinses away
Use after washing with your favorite Pantene shampoo. Shake Foam bottle well. Apply a palm-sized amount of air-light Foam conditioner from the roots all the way to tips. (Adjust the quantity according to your hair length.) Let the conditioning Foam absorb into your hair a moment, then rinse. Dry and style as usual. Use at every wash to have strong, beautiful hair that is light as air!
My take on Pantene Foam Conditioner
First of all, the whole concept is very interesting. The conditioner comes in a spray bottle. The texture is super weird for someone who is used to the regular creamy conditioners. Pantene foam conditioner is a super light white foam conditioner, it definitely felt nothing on my hair. No weight to it at all. I have used this for a week (3 uses) and I can judge the efficacy of the product on fine hair. I got this as a sample at sams club, so please note that this is a sample sized product and lasted for 3 washes. The first time when I used it, my hair didn’t seem to take it very well. I have used the Pantene Sheer Volume Shampoo and Conditioner before and I didn’t have that problem then. After shampooing my hair, I have used the product as directed, I have applied it to my roots till the tips. In my shower, I usually comb my hair to spread the conditioner, but this product didn’t allow me to do it easily. I could comb but I had to go real slow as I felt my hair wasn’t absorbing the product very well. After washing it off, my hair as usual but my hair felt no shine and it was kind of rough to touch.
The second time was almost the same and I didn’t like it at all. I wanted to try it again before I finally post a review. So, the third wash was pretty bad, my hair did feel weird, almost weighed down. I usually get oily by the third day washed hair but this product made my scalp oily on the second day itself. I can say that it didn’t really condition my hair. My hair felt like straw, very rough to touch and when I used a dry shampoo to remove the oiliness, it just worsened the whole situation.
I can totally say that someone out there may love it but it didn’t work for me. Also, the fact that it comes in a spray can, reduces the longevity of the product. I mean, I have thin fine hair, medium length hair. I had to use a lot of product to use it as suggested (to my roots and till the tips of my hair). The regular conditioner is much better as we use only like a dime-sized product and that too to the hair tips and not the scalp.
Overall, a new initiative and a cool technology (air-light feel) but, I am disappointed with this product. I will still be interested in Pantene haircare but definitely, not buying the foam conditioner.
